Who's in Your Circle of Courage?

🧭 Welcome to the Circle

Every leader has a circle. Some call it a tribe. Others call it their inner circle. But today I want you to think of it as your Circle of Courage—the people who fuel your strength, keep you grounded, and challenge you to rise.

Because courage doesn’t just show up on its own. It grows in the presence of others who believe in you, speak truth to you, and walk with you through the hard things.

💬 So let’s ask the real question: Who’s in your circle?

💪 The Power of Proximity

There’s a reason the phrase “you become like the five people you spend the most time with” sticks. It’s because proximity shapes mindset. It fuels belief or feeds doubt.

In leadership, courage isn’t just about standing up when it’s hard. It’s about being surrounded by people who remind you why it’s worth it.

Think about the people you run to when you’re struggling. Are they fueling your fire or fanning your fears?

The people in your circle either help you push forward or they hold you back. And sometimes the bravest thing you can do is re-evaluate who gets that kind of access to your energy.

🔥 Look for These Three People

Every Circle of Courage needs at least three roles filled. These aren’t job titles. They’re heart postures.

1️⃣ The Challenger
This person calls you higher. They don’t let you settle. They ask the hard questions. They love you enough to tell you the truth.

2️⃣ The Anchor
This is your steady one. When the storm hits, they don’t panic. They don’t run. They remind you who you are when you forget.

3️⃣ The Mirror
This one sees you. Not just your title. Not just your wins. They see the leader, the human, the soul. And they reflect back the version of you you’re becoming.

Do you have those three? Or have you just surrounded yourself with people who agree with everything you say?

🛑 When Courage Leaks

If you’re constantly doubting yourself
 If you’re exhausted from pretending
 If you’ve stopped dreaming bigger

It might not be a leadership problem
It might be a circle problem

Your courage will leak if it’s surrounded by people who don’t have their own
You cannot stay bold when you’re in a room full of fear
You cannot stay hopeful when you’re surrounded by cynicism
You cannot stay resilient if no one else knows how to stand back up

The right circle doesn’t just protect your peace
 It protects your purpose

👣 Build with Intention

Courageous leaders don’t stumble into great circles
 They build them

They look for people who’ve walked through fire and still speak with kindness
They invest in relationships that sharpen, not just soothe
 They choose community over convenience

Because here’s the truth
Leadership is lonely enough as it is
You don’t need people who make it harder
You need people who make you braver

So today, take stock
Who’s in your Circle of Courage?
 And maybe more importantly—
Whose circle are you a part of?

Because courageous leaders also become anchors, challengers, and mirrors for others
That’s what multiplies strength
That’s what builds legacy
That’s what turns leadership into a movement

🌟 Final Thought

Your title doesn’t make you a leader
 Your circle does

Choose it wisely
 Protect it fiercely
 And grow it intentionally

You are not meant to lead alone
So gather the ones who help you stay bold, kind, resilient, and true
