The Unstoppable Collective: From Resilience to Results

Who Showed You Humility in Action?

Julia Vaughan Season 1 Episode 12

In this episode I’m talking about what humility really looks like in action, not weakness but strength under control. As leaders it’s easy to confuse confidence with ego, but humility reminds us that real power is found in grace, not pride. I share a moment that changed how I lead and invite you to think about the people who have shown you humility through their example. Because someone is watching you right now, learning what it looks like by how you lead, listen, and respond. Humility doesn’t make us less, it makes us limitless.

Hey friends, it’s Julia, and welcome back to The Unstoppable Collective.
You know this is where we talk about the inner work that fuels the outer results, the mindset, the heart, and the habits that make us unstoppable.

Today, I want to ask you something simple but powerful:
Who showed you humility in action?

When I talk about humility, some people think it means shrinking back or downplaying yourself, but that’s not it at all.
True humility is strength under control.
It’s confidence with grace.
It’s that voice inside that says, “I don’t have to be right, I just want to do what’s right.”

Let me share a story with you.
Years ago, I worked with a leader who had every reason to brag. He was smart, respected, and everyone followed his lead.
But one day, he made a big mistake, one that cost the team time and money.

Instead of pointing fingers or making excuses, he brought the whole team together and said,
“I messed up. I should’ve listened to you. That’s on me.”
He owned it fully.

That moment stuck with me because it taught me something you won’t find in a textbook.
People don’t follow perfection, they follow honesty.
We trust people who are real.

Maybe you’ve seen humility in action too.
Maybe it was a parent who apologized after losing their temper.
Or a friend who just listened when you needed to talk, without trying to fix you.
Or maybe it was a mentor who celebrated your win instead of feeling threatened by it.

Humility shows up in those small, quiet moments where ego steps aside and love steps forward.
And that’s what makes it so powerful.

Humility opens doors to learning, to connection, to growth.
It keeps our resilience from turning into pride, and our accountability from turning into control.
It’s the balance that holds it all together.

So let me ask you again:
Who showed you humility in action?
Think about that person.
What did their example teach you?
And here’s the real question, how are you passing that lesson on?

Because right now, someone’s watching you.
They’re learning what humility looks like, not from your words, but from how you live.
That’s the ripple effect of leadership. It starts small, but it goes far.

I’ll leave you with this thought.
Humility doesn’t make you less, it actually makes you limitless.
When you lead from humility, you make space for others to rise right alongside you.

Thanks for spending a few minutes with me today.
If this message spoke to your heart, share it with someone who’s shown you humility in action, and let them know their example didn’t go unnoticed.

Until next time, remember this:
Resilience keeps you standing.
Accountability keeps you grounded.
And humility keeps you growing.
